Make a plan to market your offers throughout the year - in a way that works for how you're wired to work!


There's an old adage in business: no one likes to be sold to, but everyone loves to buy.

If that's true, then why is it so challenging (sometimes) to put your offers in front of the right folks and have them say "HELL YES!"?!?!?!

The traditional marketing "push" doesn't always jibe with the way you work. Tell me if any of this sounds familiar...

  • You put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into your work, making sure everything is AWESEOME before you launch it - but you're so busy creating, you feel like you don't really have time to do justice to "the marketing stuff"
  • Then, when you're ready to launch, you put your head down and start telling everyone you know about it - except, because you've not been doing the marketing that gets you visible and in front of more people, you're only reaching a small audience of people. Your existing audience gets to hear all about it (and maybe a few new folks you find on social or through referrals), but you haven't really grown your audience while you've been in creation mode.
  • You scratch your head because you KNOW it's awesome, the people who've seen it TELL you it's awesome... so why aren't more people buying? Where are your buyers?
  • Your sales don't feel like a positive return on the investment of all the resources that you've put into this.

I tell my clients all the time, it's not magic, it's marketing... but there's something you need to know about traditional marketing methods:

You can't market like everyone else - because you're a Unicorn...

Look, I get it. You've got something AMAZEBALLS to bring to your world (maybe even THE world - look out Oprah!), but you've got to get it front of more people to make the bigger impact you know is possible. Plus, as good GREAT as you are, you deserve to be getting paid the BIG bucks for it.

And that just hasn't been happening consistently.

Traditional marketing methods can feel slimy, sleazy, just plain difficult, or an all-out time suck... and that won't work for a Unicorn like you! It's got to feel good, it's got to be relatively easy, and you've actually got to be at least a little excited about it, or it won't stick. And if it don't stick, you won't get the results.

  • Linears can build a calendar like they're snapping Legos together... but engaging with potential clients? Audience building? That's part of it, too - and it's the part that can be tricky if you just focus on features and benefits in your marketing.
  • Chaotics eschew calendars altogether - which makes it really challenging to have consistent cashflow every month. That income rollercoaster gets a bit nauseating!
  • Fusions and cusp types spend a lot of time overthinking everything, which means things don't get done - and nothing gets sold!
